Fantastic opportunity for an experienced RN Care Manager Supervisor in Vermont

This role is just north of Burlington, VT

The RN Care Manager Supervisor assesses appropriateness of intensity of services for patients, making recommendations for change, as needed. Applies utilization review criteria to daily assessments of patients needs. Supports medical staff in securing appropriate level of care for patients. Participates in discharge planning process to ensure continuity of care in the most appropriate setting. Plans, organizes and directs the Case Management Department including but not limited to, policies and procedures in accordance with the established policies of the hospital and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, scheduling of staff, preparing and reporting department budget. Coordinates with other departments to provide efficient and appropriate services to patients and hospital staff.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in a hospital setting. Utilization management and/or case management experience desired. Certification in utilization management expected within 2 years if not already obtained.

Would oversee:

• 2 FTE RN Care Manager (1 for PCU and 1 for ED)
• 1 Social Work Care Manager (generally PCU)
• In total:  8 staff (inclusive of per diem)
• **ED RN Care Manager does support the Family Birth Center as well
