Job description:

A multidisciplinary Hematology Oncology practice in Connecticut is seeking an additional Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join their team.
Services offered: Gynecology Oncology, Medical Oncology, Hematology/Oncology and Radiation Oncology.

  • Treat a large variety of cancer types.
  • Assessment, evaluation, clinical management & treatment of patients in an outpatient setting ( they have a dedicated mid-level for inpatient)
  • This person will see roughly 8 – 11 patients a day. Additional details
  • Perform H &P’s, write medication and discharge orders on patient’s pre and post procedure.
  • Cancers treated: Blood cancer (leukemia, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma & multiple myeloma),Brain cancer, Breast cancer, (colon, rectal), Endocrine, Gynecologic ,Head & neck, Liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct cancer, Lung cancer, Prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular , (melanoma), (sarcoma),Spine, Upper GI Onc,
  • 8 physicians
  • 3 Clinic RNs- help physician with administrative and clinical work.
  • Lots of Hem patient, managing patients, (at the moment will not write chemo orders, there have been talks about the NPs/PAs doing it and then physicians signing off)
  • Involved in clinical trials , more than any other facility in the area

No weekend coverage is required.

All outpatient, been talks about other NPs rounding at hospital

  • follow-up with patients
  • 13 chairs total – 7 in a group – 1 alone - 5 chairs in a private suite w/ beds
  • Teaching Hospital Cancer Program, the only hospital in lower Fairfield County with this prestigious designation.
  • There are 5 APPs. One Moved to part-time and another moved to survivorship program.

  1. I do not think we would compensate for relocation at this time.
  2. Yes – 4-days 38 hours (9.5 per day - .5 of which is lunch)
