SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

Full-time Nights (7p to 7a)

 

Medical City Denton is a 208-bed, high-quality, acute care hospital with more than 850 employees and 300 physicians. Serving the people of North Texas, MCD is a Level III Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center and an Accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center offering advanced open-heart surgery. Our ICU is a 29 bed department that provides care to patients with issues ranging from Trauma, Cardiovascular, Renal/Dialysis, and other critically ill patient populations requiring intensive monitoring. Our unit is staffed with a team oriented group of caring Registered Nurse professionals including a dedicated Nurse Educator and an experienced, engaged Management team. Our floor has an excellent culture that encourages participation and teamwork.  We are looking for a RN with experience in an acute care facility at the ICU level, however are open to those looking to advance their career in this area. The Intensive Care Unit RN manages the nursing care to patients admitted to the ICU in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. 

 

The Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit - RN ICU is responsible for decisions and actions within the domain of nursing practice.  Important aspects of this responsibility are the promotion of a safe and therapeutic environment for both the recipients and providers of nursing care; acquisition of specialized knowledge skills and additional formal education to provide specialized care; demonstration and validation of competence in nursing practice; clinical practice consistent with the policies, procedures and standards of this facility; and supervision of other staff as designated within the department.

Qualifications

·         Licensed RN by the State of Texas or compact license

·         Associates Degree Nursing required, BSN preferred (must be willing to enroll in a BSN program within 6 months of employment and complete within 2 years)
