JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients with a broad range of illnesses. The RN is responsible for daily operations in the Cardiac Cath Lab, admission/assessment of patients, medication administration, direct and indirect patient care, circulating diagnostic and interventional cases, hemodynamic monitoring and scrubbing cases. Other departmental duties as assigned, such as: ordering supplies/maintaining inventory, providing appropriate information towards future needs and actively supports process improvement within the Cardiology Department. Maintains an active marketing profile for the facility and physicians. Maintain professional standards and seeks professional growth. Providing care to patients ranging from adolescence, adult to geriatric, utilizing in accordance with the medical staff within the organizational structure, philosophy, and goals and objectives of the Cardiology Department and Round Rock Medical Center.

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, which is part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a 171-bed facility offering a range of services including advanced cardiac care at Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David's Round Rock—the first specialized cardiac facility in Williamson County, which offers heart and valve surgery and includes a catheterization and electrophysiology lab, as well as a Hybrid Operating Room (OR) for cardiovascular patients. Other services include advanced trauma care with a Level II Trauma Center, emergency services in a 24-hour emergency department including locations in Cedar Park and Leander, as well as a dedicated unit for cancer care and inpatient rehabilitation. St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is also known for providing neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic and robotic services, among other complex specialties.

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

Required: 

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing

Minimum of 1-year Critical Care and/or Cath Lab experience

Available within 30 minutes to unit when on call

 

Preferred:

3-5 years Critical Care experience and/or 1-year diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab experience

 

License / Certifications
Required:
 

Current RN Licensure from the State of Texas. If Compact Licensed, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire. 

BLS, ACLS within the first 6 months of employment

Preferred:  RCIS and/or CCRN
