We invite recently
graduated and soon-to-be graduated registered nurses to apply for a unique
opportunity to be given didactic and clinical training in the Neonatal
Intensive Care setting. This residency will allow new graduates to obtain NICU
specific experience through an intensive internship program and then transition
to staff roles within a NICU nursing department within HCA/HealthONE Hospitals.
As a StaRN NICU Graduate Nurse Resident:
- You will enjoy meaningful
learning opportunities and networking opportunities with your peers in a
cohort setting
- You will complete new employee
orientation and unit orientation (16 weeks)
- You will complete 5-6 didactic
training including clinical orientation, relevant certification courses,
high-fidelity simulation, Meditech EMR training, and a variety of
e-learning specific to NICU. Your schedule will be Monday-Friday 40 hours
per week during this time
- You will complete 10-11 weeks
clinical training on the unit with a dedicated preceptor. Your schedule 32
hours per week, working on your preceptor’s schedule
Requirements:
- You will need your current
nursing degree (associates or bachelors) by the start date
- You will need active Colorado
Registered Nurse license or compact Registered Nurse license by the start
date
- You must be flexible to work
either day or night shift as the unit-specific needs vary
- You must be flexible to commit
to a full time NICU Registered Nurse position with a HealthONE hospital
for a two year commitment period

The Rocky Mountain
Hospital for Children (RMHC) is our pediatric system across all of HealthONE.
The RMHC NICU system throughout HealthONE has a total of 161 licensed NICU beds
and treats twice the number of NICU patients annually as compared to any other
hospital in Denver. Our NICUs house board-certified neonatologists and
hospitals on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide unparalleled
newborn care.

- Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical
Center: Level II Trauma Center,
687 licensed beds, including 84 bed Level IV and Level II NICU
- Rose Medical Center: Magnet® designated hospital, Level II
Trauma, 422 licensed beds, including 24 bed Level III NICU
- Swedish Medical Center, Level I Trauma, 408 licensed beds, including 21 bed
Level III NICU
- The Medical Center of Aurora: Magnet® designated hospital, Level II Trauma
Center, 346 licensed beds, including 14 bed Level III NICU
- Sky Ridge Medical Center, Level II Trauma, 274 licensed beds, including 12 bed
Level III NICU
- North Suburban Medical Center: Level II Trauma Center, 157 licensed beds,
including 6 bed Level II NICU
