The RN is involved in direct and indirect patient care. The RN provides direction to licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) and other non-licensed nursing personnel in providing direct patient care. The staff nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital. In collaboration with other health team members, follows the philosophy, policies and goals of the facility and department.

This is a 32 bed medical-surgical/urology/oncology unit, focused on pain management and patient satisfaction. Pre/Post Operative pts requiring general surgery, urologic surgery, specializing in post Robotic Surgery.  Oncology pts requiring care and/or Chemotherapy treatment.  General medical pts in any capacity, including telemetry.  Telemetry is remotely monitored by CardioPulmonary unit.   

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a 425-bed multi-specialty, acute care facility dedicated to the highest level of women’s health services, including maternity and newborn care with Level I, II and III nurseries at the adjacent St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas.
