It takes a special person to become a nurse practitioner, but that's even truer for those who go on to become Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. These dedicated professionals care for the most fragile patients there are sick and premature newborns. In addition, they are on the front lines when it comes to helping scared parents through what is often a traumatic experience. 

About this unit:

  • 28-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

  • Opportunity for specialized RNs to join our Neonatal Critical Care Transport team

  • Amazing teamwork throughout all levels – Physicians, Leadership, RNs, PCTs

Responsibilities:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner practices in collaboration with a licensed physician pursuant to a collaborative practice agreement.  The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for clinical management for an assigned patient population.  Enhances the quality of care through education and advanced nursing knowledge and practice through research.  Collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.  Acts as liaison between the nursing care and medical teams.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current Louisiana license as APRN and RN.  Current CPR certification and advanced life support certification, if applicable in specialty area of assignment.  Prescriptive authority preferred, if applicable in area of assignment.
