The Float Pool RN will be responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients with a broad range of illnesses.  You will be involved in direct and indirect patient care.  You will provide direction to licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) and other non-licensed nursing personnel in providing direct patient care.  You will support the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital. 

  • You will perform patient assessments/reassessments on a regular basis in accordance with established policy.
  • You will in collaboration with interdisciplinary members of the team, formulate a plan of care including expected outcomes for each patient based on diagnoses derived from patient assessments.
  • You will perform skills proficiently and in accordance with the standards of care.
  • You will evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Qualifications

Experience
  • Experience as a Staff Nurse in an acute care setting:  Require
Education
  • Current Texas RN license (or current compact RN licensure in approved state if claiming residency in other state)

  • ACLS required through AHA or Red Cross in: L&D, ED, PACU, Endo, ICU, Imaging, OR (only if performing moderate sedation activities). New hires have 90 days to obtain 

  • ACLS, ER 6 months.

  • BLS certification through the AHA or Red Cross:  Required

  • TNCC: Required in ED
