Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, located on Florida's Emerald Coast, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery Team! Our unit consists of 4 labor rooms and 12 recovery suites. We seek a full time RN whose priority is to provide the highest level of care in a compassionate environment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse is responsible to Charge
Nurse and Nursing Director for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing
the nursing process. The quality of care
given will be in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and
the Department of Nursing and will maintain and support the standards of
nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients,
their families and the community.
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (FWBMC) is a 267-bed
full-service hospital with over 200 of the most highly respected and qualified

Qualifications
We are willing to train candidates with a degree in nursing who lack L&D experience as long as the following job and education requirements are met.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
- Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN required
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current FL RN license required or appropriate
compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required
within 90 days of hire.
- BLS required prior to start, ACLS within 90 days of hire required
- AWHONN FHR required within 18 months and renewed every 2 years
- NRP required within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 90 days of hire
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
- Previous L&D experience preferred
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders
- Knowledge of body substance isolation
- Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs
- Basic computer skills
