LewisGale Hospital Pulaski (LGHP) is located in the
beautiful mountainous region of Virginia. Pulaski is considered a neighbor to
the Virginia Tech Hokie community and is a short 45-minute drive
from Roanoke, VA. The HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) hospital is a 147-bed
acute care facility with more than 350 employees and has been recognized by
Joint Commission as a Top Performer. The medical staff includes a wide range of
primary care and specialty care physicians, including Cardiology, Otolaryngology,
Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology and Oncology as well as Hospitalists.
Our Medical Surgical team has
diverse capabilities to offer care to patients with a range of conditions such
as joint injuries, infectious diseases, chemotherapy treatment along with
various general medical conditions. Our unit is an incredible team of
close-knit health professionals, both highly experienced as well as recently
graduated RN's. We are welcoming and enthusiastic about providing support and
mentorship for our newest team members.

- Includes Telemetry and Progress
Care Unit populations
- Non- titratable drips and
continuous cardiac monitoring
- Orthopedic, cardiac, stroke populations
serviced in addition to the general medical surgical population
- Nurse to patient ratios based
on acuity

Job Duties include:
-Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to the rehabilitation patient.
-Performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient, and departmental safety.
-Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Documents required information according to hospital policy.
-Functions in an organized and time conscious manner
-Presents self in a professional manner.
-Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.
-Acquires and maintains current knowledge pertinent to nursing practice in Rehabilitation
