POSITION OVERVIEW
The Medical Surgical Intermediate Care (MSIMC) Unit is a 20-bed critical care unit with a patient mix that includes stable Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Gastrointestinal Bleed, Acute Kidney Injury, End-Stage Renal Disease, Tracheostomy/ Ventilator patients, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Trauma, Sepsis, and many more. The patients admitted to MSIMC have acute, high-risk but non-emergent needs that can benefit from closer observation and highly skilled nursing interventions including telemetry monitoring. Our nursing culture is focused heavily on teamwork, process improvement, and safety for staff and patients. LOCATION: Aspirus Wausau Hospital - Wausau WI
Aspirus is a nationally recognized health system based in Wausau which is located in the center of Wisconsin. Our system and service area extends from beautiful central and northern Wisconsin into the majestic lake shore regions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have 8 hospitals and over 55 primary care/specialty clinics.

The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.
EDUCATION
Candidates should possess one or more of the following:
Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
1-2 years of acute care experience is desired.
Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.
Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
